Meet the Team
Jamie - Owner/Groomer
I am proud to have been trained by and worked alongside the excellent groomers who now work at Tidy Tails. After feeling unfulfilled by the stress of the corporate world, I decided to pursue a career that brings me genuine joy. With a background as a hairdresser and a deep love for animals, grooming felt like the perfect fit. Within just two weeks of starting, I knew this was my lifelong passion. Creating a safe, peaceful space for animals and building trust with nervous or scared pets has been incredibly rewarding. Among the many joys of grooming, I especially love working with shih tzus—despite their occasional sneezes! If I could give our pet parents one bit of my best advice, it is to please understand that grooming doesn't stop in the shop. Have a discussion with your groomer about the best way to handle a pet's coat in between groom appointments to save your pet from undue stress and your pocketbook from extra charges for time taken to get your pet back in shape.
Ruby - Manager
I’ve been in the grooming industry for five years, and I received my training from our very own Stephanie, at a local shop in Friendswood. I’m certified in Pet CPR and actively pursuing continuing education to expand my skills. Grooming has always been a passion for me; as a teenager, I volunteered at an animal hospital to immerse myself in animal care. After exploring other career paths in college, I returned to this calling, knowing it was where I truly belonged. I find immense joy in being surrounded by a variety of animals, from cats to dogs, and I thrive on providing them with love and pampering while they’re away from home. Some of my favorite breeds to work with include pomskies, corgis, and King Charles spaniels. If I could give pet parents one valuable piece of advice, it would be this: don’t hesitate to reach out to your groomer for guidance—after all, we’re here to support both you and your furry companions.
Stephanie - Groomer
I’ve been grooming for 28 years, starting when I was just 14 years old at an independent salon called Eastside Pets and Grooming. Early on, I sensed that my career would involve working with animals, even though I didn’t know exactly how at the time. Fate led me to grooming, and I’ve loved every moment of it since. I’m certified in pet CPR and enjoy making pets look and feel better, knowing that while not all of them enjoy the process, they always seem to have a little more pep in their step afterward. Among my favorite breeds to groom are standard poodles, Yorkies, and Pomeranians. My advice to pet parents is simple: socialize your pets early and help them get used to brushing and combing at home to make the grooming experience smoother for everyone.
Jina - Groomer
I’ve been grooming for 20 years and received my training at PetSmart, as well as from two local mom-and-pop groomers. Over the years, I’ve earned certifications through PetSmart and the AKC, which have helped me refine my skills. Working with animals has always been my passion, and I love seeing the confidence and joy they exude after a grooming session. My favorite breeds to groom are standard poodles, as their elegance and versatility are incredibly rewarding to work with. If I could share one valuable tip with pet parents, it would be this: brush and brush and brush your dog. Then do it again. Daily, especially if they have a long coat. For those aiming to maintain a longer coat, I recommend brushing multiple times a day using both a brush and then a comb to avoid tangles and ensure the coat stays healthy and beautiful.
Kassidy - Groomer
I began grooming at the age of 19, and for nearly four years now, it has been my passion and profession. My journey started at a local grooming shop in Friendswood, where I honed my skills and discovered the joy of working with animals. I am eager to continue expanding my education in this field. Since I was a young girl, I’ve dreamt of working with animals, and I was fortunate enough to seize the opportunity right out of high school. What I love most about grooming is witnessing the incredible transformations and providing comfort and relief to pets by making them feel fresh and revitalized. My favorite breeds to groom are Schnauzers and Australian Shepherds, as their distinct personalities and coats make the process both rewarding and enjoyable. One piece of advice I always share with pet parents is to follow up brushing their pets with a comb to remove all the undercoat and ensure their furry friends stay comfortable and healthy.
Sierra - Bather
I have been a pet bather for four years, and my journey in this field began by helping out some friends at a local shop in Friendswood. Over time, I discovered how much I love working with dogs and decided to pursue this path professionally. While I don’t have any certifications yet, I am working toward earning my pet CPR certification. Among the many breeds I’ve worked with, huskies and pitties are my favorites because of the rewarding experiences they bring. If I could give one piece of advice to pet parents, it would be to start desensitizing their pets early, making grooming a stress-free experience for everyone involved.
Jay - Bather
I am excited to begin my journey in the pet care industry. Since childhood, my love for animals has been a defining part of who I am, leading me to pursue a career where I can work with them every day. I am certified in pet CPR and am currently undergoing training at Tidy Tails, where I am learning the art of bathing and drying pets. My ultimate goal is to advance my skills and become a groomer in the future. Among all breeds, my favorites are border collies and labradors, as their unique personalities bring me joy. I am excited to continue growing in this field and building connections with both pets and their owners.
